The 36th annual The People’s Choice Awards are coming up Wednesday and several new TV shows are in the running for an award. Queen Latifah will be the host.
For the Favorite New TV Comedy award, the nominees are: Accidentally on Purpose, The Cleveland Show, Cougar Town, Glee and Modern Family.
My pick for the favorite new TV comedy would be Modern Family followed closely by Glee. What would you pick?
In the Favorite New TV Drama category, the following shows are up for the award: FlashForward, The Good Wife, NCIS: Los Angeles, V and The Vampire Diaries.

"V" returning in March, but can we wait?

This weekend I caught up on all the new episodes of ABC’s new show V, though it wasn’t too hard. All four total episodes aired in November.
Now V fans will have to wait until March 2010 before new episodes will return. January would have been fine with me, but March? By the time March rolls around, people will need a refresher on the first four episodes again!

I finally got a chance to catch the premiere episode of V online and thought the pilot episode was pretty good.
A new episode of V will air tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC called “There is Nor Normal Anymore.”
Erica (Elizabeth Mitchell) and Father Jack (Joel Gretsch), having quickly determined they’re both against the arrival of the Visitors, suddenly find themselves being tracked by a “Seeker” from the V’s.

ABC’s new sci-fi thriller V will make its debut on ABC tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT – as Earth deals with is first major alien encounter. ABC announces fall schedule, adds new shows

On Tuesday, ABC added several new series to its schedule during its upfront presentation, while canceling Samantha Who? starring Christina Applegate, among other shows.
New fall and midseason series include: Cougar Town (with Courtney Cox), The Deep End, Eastwick (with Rebecca Romijin), Flash Forward, The Forgotten, Hank (with Kelsey Grammer), Happy Town, The Middle (with Patricia Heaton), Modern Family, V (with Elizabeth Mitchell) and reality series Shark Tank.
Better Off Ted, Castle, Scrubs and True Beauty joined the other returning series.
ABC did not announce its premiere dates, but did say Shark Tank will premiere over the summer following the special 10h anniversary …read more
2009 Fall TV: What’s canceled, what’s renewed, what’s new

This is the week that the TV networks will be making their decisions on what will return to the fall, what will be canceled and what new shows will be added to their schedule.
Each network has an upfront presentation planned this week when they will share their fall schedule. FOX will kick off Monday, followed by ABC and NBC on Tuesday, CBS on Wednesday and The CW on Thursday.
Of course, the networks have already made some decisions. Sunday, FOX cut Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and renewed Bones, while NBC renewed Chuck for a third season.

Dollhouse renewed and other fall TV news

Dollhouse fans have to be ecstatic after hearing that FOX decided to renew the freshman show Friday.
At several points during the last couple of months, it hasn’t looked very good for a renewal. So this is awesome freakin’ news!
According to Michael Ausiello from Entertainment Weekly, the show was renewed for 13 episodes with the condition executive producer Joss Whedon agreed to a "drastically cut budget."
Of course, FOX will make its official announcement at its upfront presentation on Monday.

Pilot watch as the network upfronts draw near

TV fans are only a week or so away from finding out what the major networks are planning to put on its fall schedules.
Though NBC has announced the majority of its new shows for the fall at its “infront” presentation on May 4, NBC will announce its full schedule on May 19.
The upfront presentations for the networks are set for the following dates: FOX, May 18: ABC and NBC, May 19: CBS, May 20; The CW, May 21.

Is Elizabeth Mitchell leaving ‘Lost’ for new pilot ‘V’

Elizabeth Mitchell, who plays Juliet on Lost, has been cast in ABC’s sci-fi pilot V, according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.
While this sounds like Mitchell may be leaving Lost, sources at ABC and Warner Bros. which are producing V say Mitchell is just a guest star, according to EW.
But Ausiello isn’t so sure as something similar happened with Cynthia Watros.
V is a reworking of the 1980s miniseries about alien lizards coming down to Earth. The new adaptation was written by The 4400 co-creator/executive producer Scott Peters.
