Why the switch? According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS is doing a little experiment to see if either show’s ratings improve by the change.

According to THR, rumors are swirling that CBS is considering an additional script order for Three Rivers, planning order between two to five episodes depending on the outcome of ratings.

Sunday’s episode of Three Rivers is called “The Kindness of Strangers.” Here is the episode description: The wife of a billionaire suffers the consequences after a setback leaves her without a new liver and her husband resorts to buying one on the black market. Meanwhile, a friend from Andy’s (Alex O’Loughlin) past resurfaces.
