Celebrity Circus coming to NBC June 11
Yes, the circus is coming to town. Or to NBC, at least.
NBC will present its new reality series Celebrity Circus during a 90-minute premiere on Wednesday, June 11 at 9:30 p.m. ET.
The series takes six celebrities on a wild ride to see if they can perform some of the most death-defying circus stunts ever done.
The contestants will go head-to-head in competition in front of a live studio audience each week, with America casting its votes for the best acts and determining which of the celebrities is going home.
Celebrity Circus is hosted by former N’SYNC member Joey Fatone (Dancing with the Stars, The Singing Bee).
In the premiere:
-
Actor Antonio Sabato Jr. (Melrose Place) attempts the Flying Silks
-
Grammy award-winning singer Blu Cantrell will face the Spanish Web
-
Actor and host Christopher Knight (The Brady Bunch) will walk the High Wire
-
Olympic athlete Janet Evans will fly on the Duo Trapeze
-
Professional skateboarder and reality star Jason “Wee Man” Acuna (Jackass) takes his chances with the Wheel of Death
-
Supermodel Rachel Hunter challenges the Lire
-
Actress (Clueless) will soar on the Flying Bungee
The contestants will go head-to-head in competition in front of a live studio audience each week, with America casting its votes for the best acts and determining which of the celebrities is going home.
With visuals, dramatic stories, and breathtaking stunts, “Celebrity Circus” will follow the entire journey from the star’s first terrifying climb up the high wire ladder to the last rehearsal. Guided by top experts in specialties like High Wire, Fire Dancing, Hand Balancing, Flying Trapeze, Chinese Poles, Aerial Silks, and the Wheel of Death, the stars will have eight weeks to train and perfect their acts. Then, in a circus environment, they will showcase their skills for America. The stars will be joined on stage by the experts who trained. After each performance the competitors will face the judges, experts from the cirque world, who will be candidly honest in their assessment of each act.
