Lie to Me episode 1.02 “Moral Waiver” preview

When a female soldier charges a commanding officer with sexual assault, Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) is brought to Fort Meade to find out if there’s any truth to the accusation in the second episode of the new FOX drama Lie to Me tonight at 8 p.m. CST.

Meanwhile, the Lightman Group is hired to determine whether the young star of a college basketball team accepted a bribe to play for the university.

I watched the pilot episode of Lie to Me last week — and the show rocks. Tim Roth’s character as Dr. Cal Lightman — the human lie detector — is an intriguing character on the same level as House’s Hugh Laurie.

The supporting cast — especially Kelli Williams — make the show even better.

Not only are you following the storyline, while watching you can’t help but try to learn the techniques of catching a person in a lie.

But what I learned in the pilot, is just because a person lies doesn’t mean they are guilty. It simply means they may be hiding something or are ashamed. There’s a REASON for the lie — and Dr. Cal Lightman and his team are good at figuring out what the reason is — and if it is relevant to their case.

Plus, Dr. Lightman is so funny when he’s not working — because he can’t stop using his skill in his regular life. In the pilot, there was a hilarious scene where he blocked a guy in who stole his parking spot and the lied to him about not seeing him.
