Spike TV orders tough-guy reality pilots
Calling itself the network for men, Spike TV has announced a new batch of non-scripted original tough-guy reality pilots similar to those on the Discovery Channel and the History Channel that executives hope will interest their largely male audience, according to Mediaweek.
-
River Man — a docu-series about the barge captains who navigate the treacherous circuit of the Mississippi River
-
USA vs. the World — competition series pitting American tough guys against their overseas counterparts. In the pilot, top alligator wranglers from Florida take on a crew of wranglers from Northern Australia.
-
Tank and Cobra — bounty hunters
-
Human Predators — Will profile convicted murderers and contract killers
In addition to these one-hour pilots, Spike TV also has a late-night half-hour series in the works, Idiot Hall of Fame.
