The Cleaner with Benjamin Bratt coming to A&E
Fresh from his lead role in A&E’s mini series The Andromeda Strain based on Michael Crichton’s book, Benjamin Bratt is headed back to A&E, but this time for his own original series, The Cleaner.
The former Law & Order star will star as William “The Cleaner” Banks, who after hitting rock bottom from his own addictions after the birth of his daughter, strikes a deal with God. Inspired by the true story of a real-life “extreme interventionist,” “The Cleaner” and his team helps people get away from their addictions by any means necessary.
The series also will star Amy-Price Frances as Melissa Banks, Grace Park as Akani Cuesta, Esteban Powell as Arnie Swenton and Kevin Michael Richardson as Darnell McDowell.
The show is set to premiere July 15 at 9 p.m. CST.

[…] Benjamin Bratt plays interventionist William “The Cleaner” Banks who goes to whatever means necessary to save people from their addictions, because he has been there before. And just because he’s clean from his heroin addiction doesn’t mean all of his troubles are over. The series is intriguing because it shows even though you are over the addiction, you still need to clean up the messes that it made in your life (in your family life especially). Some of his intervention team members also have pasts with addictions of one sort or another and it’s interesting to see how their lives have changed, and how some of them are still struggling to keep clean. For some, it’s a day-to-day challenge. […]

I love the show thus far! I have seen a couple of the last season’s shows. I am looking forward to the new shows. I had no knowledge of the show untill just recently. Ben is great for the partl, and does a great job!! He could haAve lead me to the right path. I wish he was in town when I needed help. I’ve been sober 9 yr.s now. I would like to help people myself. I would love to help someone to keep from suffering with addictions. And hope to someday. The worst part of someone’s addiction is the fact that others suffer with you!! It can’t be helped!! And it is so, so unfair! Family and friends pay the price as well. There must be a way to take care of this gigantic problem. The jails are full of mostly people with addictions. It is handled all wrong as far as I’m concerened. The show has renewed hope in some of us. Maybe it will help us invent more ideas to stop the behavior.
I have read some negative comments on the show. You can change the channel if you don’t like the show. Or you can give it a chance. And hear the voices of others who have been suffering with alcohol and durgs.

This is the first season of The Cleaner. You can watch all of the episodes on the A&E website, aetv.com
I love The Cleaner too — it’s one of my favorite shows. I think it shows the “unpretty” side of drug addiction and also how easily it is for someone to become addicted. It gives hope that there is a way out, and though it’s not easy, it’s worth trying to get help. My husband watches it with our 15-year-old son, hoping he can learn “what not to do.”
