Tristan Wilds as Dixon Wilson on the new 90210
On The CW’s new drama 90210, the show will be seen mainly through the eyes of two teenaged siblings, Annie Wilson (Shenae Grimes) and Dixon Wilson.
Tristan Wilds plays Dixon Wilson, a star athlete and scholar who was adopted by dad Harry (Rob Estes) and mom Debbie (Lori Loughlin) after the family took him in as a foster child. So far, the storyline given to us by The CW doesn’t tell us how old he was when he was adopted, so that should provide a juicy back story for Dixon.
For Annie and Dixon, culture shock will not be the only thing different at their new school, West Beverly Hills. Their dad Harry also is the school’s new principal.
An 18-year-old native of Staten Island, New York, Wilds most recently was seen on the series The Wire and made his big-screen debut on the film Half Nelson starring Ryan Gosling, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
Since making his debut on both television and on the screen, Wilds has stayed busy. He has starred oppositee Roger Guenveur Smith in the role of Adrian in the film Indelible, which is scheduled to be released in 2009. He made his television debut in the Spike Lee mini series Miracle’s Boys and has also guest starred in Cold Case and Law and Order.
Wilds has appeared on stage in workshops for Roundabout Theatre Company’s Wool and Stockhom Brooklyn, opposite The Cosby Show’s Phylicia Rashad, at the Cherry Lane Theater.
Wilds also has been featured on rap artist Li’l Flop and Jay Z’s music videos. He also is one of the new faces in Rocawear’s 2008 “I Will Not Lose” campaign, as well as being a Rocawear model.
Wilds also is a talented singer and songwriter working on his first album. I wonder if 90210 will use his singing talents on the show?
