Tom Sizemore guest stars on Southland tonight

Tom Sizemore will guest star as a self-obsessed actor who becomes involved with the cops on tonight’s new episode of Southland, “See the Woman,” airing at 10 p.m. ET/PT tonight (Tuesday) on TNT.

Meanwhile, Officer Dewey (guest star C. Thomas Howell) causes a rift in his relationship with his partner Chickie (Arija Bareikis)  when he becomes star struck by Timmy Davis (guest star Sizemore). But when he loses track of the actor and gets himself stuck in a bad position, Chickie finds herself questioning her decision to take him on as her partner. Review: Southland worth watching; TNT premiere tonight

Southland, a gritty cop drama, will make its TNT premiere tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
If you didn’t get a chance to watch Southland on NBC in the fall, give it a fresh start tonight on TNT, the show’s new home. Southland got stuck in NBC’s temporary insanity where they put Jay Leno in the 10 p.m. spot, and Southland was shuffled out. Thankfully, TNT picked the series.

What makes Southland worth watching? Well, first, the cast is top-notch. The show’s three main stars in the ensemble cast include Benjamin McKenzie (The OC, 88 Minutes), Regina King (Jerry Maguire, Miss Congeniality 2: …read more

TNT picks up Southland!

TNT picks up Southland!

Oh, I love TNT!
In a rare industry move, TNT has rescued Southland – after being canceled by NBC a week before its second season was scheduled to start, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
TNT has obtained the rights to show all 13 produced episodes of the Warner Bros. drama – the first original seven episodes that aired last year on NBC – and the six unaired episodes which were going to kick off the second season originally in October. TNT will then decide whether to order additional episodes.

Southland will make its TNT debut on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 10 p.m. …read more

NBC cancels Southland before second-season premiere

NBC cancels Southland before second-season premiere

I am so ticked off at network TV! I do not appreciate it when shows I have followed get cancelled, and I know I’m not alone.
Suprisingly, NBC decided Thursday to cancel Southland — before its second season premiere scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23.
So why am I so mad? Well, I’ve been looking forward to the show returning! To me, it was one of the best new  shows of last season. And if you remember, they didn’t air that many episodes in the first season.
When they first scheduled Southland’s second season for Friday night, I wasn’t even upset. Once CW moved …read more

Southland season 2 delayed to Oct. 23

Southland season 2 delayed to Oct. 23

I don’t know if this a good thing or a bad thing.
NBC has decided to push back the second season premiere of cop show Southland to Friday, Oct. 23. The original start date was Sept. 25.
According to Broadcasting & Cable, insiders hope to use the extra month to promote the show.
NBC executives were concerned about the sophomore show getting lost in the shuffle against the premieres of FOX’s Dollhouse and CBS’ Medium  on Sept. 25.
I was looking forward to watching Smallville on its new night, Friday, followed by Southland this fall. But honestly, there are so many …read more

Dark Blue review; New show premieres on TNT Wednesday

How deep undercover does an agent go? Does he go so deep that his colleagues aren’t sure whether or not he or she has “turned”? At what point does an undercover agent draw the line? And what will that agent do to protect his identity while undercover?

Those are some of the questions that TNT’s new summer drama Dark Blue starring Dylan McDermott (The Practice) ponders for its characters as executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer takes viewers into the dark world of undercover cops in Los Angeles.
The hour-long drama will make its premiere at 10 p.m. ET/PT Wednesday on TNT.

Southland “Derailed” finale spoilers

If you’ve been hypnotized like I have with NBC’s new cop show Southland, you won’t want to miss tonight’s episode “Derailed,” which serves as Southand’s finale for a while.
The show will return with 13 new episodes in the fall – but on a new night – Friday, as NBC just shuffled its fall season around to accommodate The Jay Leno Show each night. I wasn’t real happy with that at first – but I think Friday is going to be the “new” Thursday. Lots of good shows are moving to Friday, including Smallville.
In “Derailed,” the day takes a …read more

NBC announces fall schedule, cancel shows

NBC canceled Medium and My Name is Earl during their upfront presentations today as the networks announced their fall schedules.
My Name is Earl is currently being shopped to FOX and ABC. The Los Angeles Times is reporting CBS may pick up Medium.
NBC also moved its schedule around some, moving Southland to Fridays (which irritates the crap out of me!).
It will premiere two dramas and one comedy this fall. Trauma will follow Heroes on Monday, Parenthood on Wednesday, Community on Thursday (along with an SNL Update Thursday before Parks & Recreation)
Coming in midseason on NBC is Day One on Monday, …read more
